5-PHENYL-2-PYRROLEPROPIONIC ACID - Introduction
3-(+)-propionic acid is an organic compound whose chemical formula is C14H13NO2.
Nature:
-Appearance: White to slightly yellow crystalline powder
-Melting point: 147-148°C
-Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and ether, insoluble in water
Use:
3-(-)-propionic acid is commonly used as an organic synthesis intermediate, mainly for the synthesis of steroidal compounds and drugs.
Preparation Method:
Generally, the preparation method of 3-(over)-propionic acid can be through the following steps:
1. First, 2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid is reacted with bromostyrene to obtain 2-bromo-phenylacetic acid.
2. Then, the obtained 2-bromophenylacetic acid is reacted with 2-hydropyrazine and methyl iodide to obtain)-propionic acid methyl ester.
3. Finally, the obtained ester compound is reacted with an alkali to hydrolyze to obtain 3-(a)-propionic acid.
Safety Information:
At present, there is a lack of clear report on the safety information of 3-(but)-propionic acid. Therefore, it is necessary to take corresponding chemical laboratory safety operation measures and follow relevant regulations and guidelines when using it. At the same time, contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. If accidental contact, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical help.
